King-Chavez and SeaPerch teamed up to provide middle school students with an innovative underwater robotics program! Throughout this school year, students from Preparatory Academy and Academy of Excellence have been learning about engineering and science concepts with a marine engineering theme.
Our students were challenged with using low-cost, easily accessible parts to build an underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) to showcase in the San Diego SeaPerch competition. Both schools did an incredible job building a controllable underwater ROV while learning engineering concepts, implementing technical applications, and working as a team. Way to go, Pumas and Cheetahs!
